We believe picking a career should be like choosing a pastry- you see them all lined up and when you’re not quite sure what a delicacy is filled with, you get to ask. That way, you know what you’re considering eating and whether that sounds like something you’d like. 

Sadly, finding out about the day-to-day of many jobs isn’t as easy, meaning you often have to take a bite of the job or informational chat before realizing what the filing is and how you feel about it. 

We at OBWDYD think that should change. So, we’ve compiled a wide array of interviews that discuss the reality behind specific job titles and careers. We delve into the pros and the cons, the space for growth in a field, and even the nitty gritty of qualifications and how to get to to that job in the first place, all by asking real people in that position about how they spend their days. 

But we don’t stop there—we go a little deeper still with our How Tos. These are guides by our interviewees on how to handle all sorts of things, like moving abroad for a job, investing your money, asking for a raise, or bringing emotion into the workplace.

How Tos are where we get to hone in on a particular aspect our interviewees can really speak to. Sometimes it’s step-by-step guides on processes in the workplace, sometimes it’s advice that comes from their career expertise, and sometimes it’s wisdom earned throughout life that they are particularly suited to share. From concrete to abstract, it’s valuable and (again closing line will depend on things)
